Speed Camera Radar (Light) 2.1.28-light

This application is designed to identify road hazards, such as speed cameras (mobile ambush, static speed cameras, red light cameras), speed bumps, and poor road conditions. It utilizes a database of hazards previously reported by other users across the globe.

Getting started with the light version:

1. Upon installing and launching the app, it will attempt to automatically update the necessary Points of Interest (POI) databases for your country (requires GPS to be enabled). If the update does not occur automatically, you can navigate to the "Update databases" section in the menu to download and install the latest speed camera database for your region.
2. The light version initiates hazard detection mode by default. You can manually start or stop this mode by tapping the circle button located at the bottom right of the screen (with icons for play or stop).
3. The application notifies users only about dangers along their route direction.
4. To access the main settings, swipe from the left edge of the screen to the right.
5. For hazard filtering preferences, swipe from the right edge of the screen to the left.
6. To report a new hazard, tap on the top-left icon (+) on the screen. Note that this feature is available only for authenticated users.

How does it work?

The functionality of this application distinguishes it from traditional hardware radar detectors. Unlike passive radar receivers, this app actively utilizes your current GPS location and a shared database of reported hazards. For instance, when alerted about a mobile ambush, it suggests a potential hazardous location based on user data.

Users have the capability to contribute new hazards to the shared database and can influence hazard ratings by confirming or disputing alerts received.

The application provides both audio alerts and visual cues on the map indicating the hazards along with their respective distances.

Additionally, users can opt for the app to run in the background (even when the screen is off) by enabling this feature in settings ("Show widget over other apps when app is started").
